The Battlefield
During the summer and after school during the fall season, I step on the turf with my battlefield equipment on and my helmet on ready to go 48 minutes with another team. The Thurston football field is my special place to go. I’ve been going to the turf for 2 years now. I go there for the off-season and for practice. The football field is like my home I love to be there. When the football season ends I always can’t wait to step back on the field when the next season comes. When I go high up in the stands I see the big blue and white T in the middle of the field and the 2 white goal posts on both the right and the left side. I take a deep breath and smell the clean air. My fellow teammates like Desmond, Branden, Lamar and my other fellow teammates also step on the battlefield ready to hit someone and to score a touchdown. All of the teammates are my brothers because we always fight and argue but we all have each others back. When it is 7:00 and it is night time I feel like a monster because I am always ready to hit someone on the other line of scrimmage. When I think of this place I think of my future because I plan on going to college and playing football for the rest of my life and I want to go pro. This place means a lot to me because it’s a place I love and I have bonded with a lot of people there. I also made my first touchdown on the Thurston football field and that touchdown meant a lot to me. A lot of big plays happened on that field, like when Gary had the ball and made this one guy fall, it was real funny. That field is like my room, it is some what my domain.
